Lecturer at the PAN Institute of Slavonic Studies in Warsaw. She is a leading researcher of 20th century Russian theatre, specialising in the tradition of studio theatres. Her publications include the following volumes: The Lexicon of Russian Theatre in the 20th Century, (Warsaw: Semper, 1997), The Studio in Russian Theatre Culture in the 20th Century – Selected Issues, (Warsaw: Semper, 1997), and Monasteries and Laboratories. Studies in Russian Theatre: Stanislavski, Meyerhold, Sulerzhitski, Vakhtangov, (Gdansk: slowo/obraz/terytoria, 2003). Her research interests also include contemporary Russian theatre, particularly the work of Anatoli Vasiliev. She has published articles in the journals Dialog, Didaskalia, Literatura na Swiecie, Pamietnik Teatralny and Teatr. In 2005 she was curator of Tadeusz Kantor’s Days in Moscow, organised by the Centre for the Documentation of the Art of Tadeusz Kantor – Cricoteka, in Krakow, in collaboration with the Meyerhold Centre in Moscow.
