Dr Tomasz Plata, Aleksander Zelwerowicz State Theatre Academy in Warsaw, and Wojciech Ziemilski will give a lecture entitled “Sztuka publiczna jako akt performatywny: szansa czy zagrożenie dla przestrzeni wspólnej?”
Lectures are held on Fridays. Closed workshops for seminar students of the Open Research University are held on Saturdays.

Salome is the story of Herod’s sinful love for his brother’s wife and of the consequences of John the Baptist’s open criticism of their debauched life. The eponymous Salome stirs up Herod’s lust with her sensuous dance and, on the advice of her mother, talks him into murdering John the Baptist.

The screening will be preceded by an introduction by Marek Oleksy, a legend of Henryk Tomaszewski’s Mime Theatre, currently serving as artistic director of the Wrocław Mime Theatre.

Running time: 88 min

The last two productions prepared by Henryk Tomaszewski were put up in 1999. One of them, Tragic Games, is built around the themes of two plays by Austrian playwright Ferdinand Bruckner. Tragic Games is the story of two women: a paralyzed one who spends most of her time at home and an energetic and vigorous one who divides her time between fashion houses and beauty salons. Both will reach a sudden turning point in their lives which will influence the way they see and experience the world.

Running time: 90 min

Henryk Tomaszewski’s televised production performed by the Wrocław Mime Theatre, based on Gerhard Hauptmann’s play Schluck und Jau. When two drunk vagabonds arrive at the duke’s court, the elegant company decide to amuse themselves at their expense. They dress the two men up as a king and a woman and have fun watching the vagabonds get into their new roles.



The Grotowski Institute hosts regular training sessions of the Indian martial art of Kalarippayattu led by Studio Kalari’s Sankar Sivasankaran Nair and Justyna Rodzińska-Nair.

The event is organised in collaboration with the Raszewski Theatre Institute.
