Sibiu International Theater Festival 2011 Opening: 30 May 2011, 3 pm The exhibition runs from 30 May to 5 June, 9 am–7 pm Cercul Militar, 3-5 Bulevardul Victoriei, Sibiu, Romania  In 1979, in Milan, Maurizio Buscarino, a renowned Italian artist, photographed the rehearsals and performance of Apocalypsis cum figuris by the Laboratory Theatre and the shooting of a film documenting this performance. Only some of his pictures have been published before. Many years later – at the Grotowski Institute’s request – the author edited the rest of the photographs and chose some of them for display in the historical space of the Laboratory Theatre where Apocalypsis was created in 1968. This selection, which includes forty seven pictures, makes time travel possible by offering a unique encounter with the history-making work of Jerzy Grotowski and his group. |
