Creative work in this session focuses on:
A Feast in Time of Plague by Alexander S. Pushkin.
A dramaturgy of disease and healing.
Participants must read this text before the session and, if possible, bring a copy in their own native language.
Work Programme
Working sessions are held every day from 9 am to 1 pm, and from 3 pm to 7 pm. Other individual sessions will be held at different timing, according with the development of the work. Languages: English and Italian
Physical Training
- Plastics: segmentation (hinges and organs), coordination and dissociation, composition exercises (classical statuary, lines-volumes compositions, 'dramaturgy' of segmentation).
- Exercises of dynamic-impulse-relation: free body with fixed and mobile obstacles.
- Rhythmic Body: rhythmic segmentation, accents, counterpoint, voice-rhythmic body relationship, group and spatial choreography.
- Pre-acrobatics and body-grammar exercises: postural and dynamic stretching, descending and rising, twists, jumps and falls, co-ordination.
- Actor's Acrobatics: on the ground, dynamic, in pairs. Postural and dynamic exercises. Composition and improvisation.
Vocal Training
- Breathing and vocal emission techniques.
- Orto-phonetic, accents and spelling, spoken word vs. movement dynamics.
- Localization of registers and tones: 'physical resonators'.
- Vocals, dynamic and agogic, 'work' chants.
- Chant-movement relationship, spoken word-physical training techniques relationship.
Singing
- Songs from various musical and cultural matrices useful to the practice of physical and group work: monodic chant and choral singing, three and four parts harmonization.
- Techniques of Chironomia.
- Pitch and octaves dynamic, transport and modulation techniques.
- Techniques of vocal and instrumental arrangement.
- Singing and space in group dynamics.
On Physical Actions
- Actor's composition and dramaturgy.
- Group montage and dramaturgy, levels of attention and perception. Work-in-sequence: from individual exercises to composition, improvisation and dynamic use of space.
Requirements
- Comfortable workwear for strenuous work (spare parts of t-shirts).
- Knee-pad (volleyball-like).
- Every actor should prepare a monologue from A Feast in Time of Plague, by Alexander S. Pushkin.
- Each player must bring an elegant costume, complete with shoes, in relation to the chosen character from A Feast in Time of Plague by Alexander S. Pushkin.
Fee and Deadline
450 EUR (300 EUR for participants from Eastern and Central Europe). / Returning participants from previous sessions will pay a reduced fee of 400 EUR (250 EUR for participants from Eastern and Central Europe). Fee includes lodging and food. It does not include transportation expenses from/to Wroclaw. Application form must be received by February 25th. Candidates will have confirmation of their participation by February 28th.
