A workshop with Jorge Parente Sat–Sun 16–17 June, 10am – 1pm, 3pm – 6pm Na Grobli Studio, ul. Na Grobli 30/32 Jorge Parente (born in 1963 in Lisbon) is an actor, director and teacher. From 1992 he worked with Zygmunt Molik, first as a stagiaire and then as Molik’s assistant. He is a continuator of the Voice and Body training method. Jorge Parente appeared in Zygmunt Molik’s Body Alphabet, a film accompanying Giuliano Campo’s and Zygmunt Molik’s book Zygmunt Molik’s Voice and Body Work. The Legacy of Jerzy Grotowski (Routledge, 2010). He has conducted workshops in vocal techniques in Brazil, France, the Netherlands, Portugal, Thailand and Poland. He is affiliated with the Department of Political Science at Sciences Po University, Paris. More: www.jorgeparente.com  Zygmunt Molik (1930–2010) was an actor with Grotowski’s Laboratory Theatre, appearing as Jacob in Akropolis and Judas in Apocalypsis cum figuris. He played a major part in developing the voice training method initiated by Grotowski. In 1964 he began teaching Acting Therapy workshops for actors, which in 1975 developed into the Acting Therapy Professional Therapy Laboratory and into Body and Voice, an international project which continued until 2008. The secret lies in the voice, sound, which is full and as pure as possible. It is essential to free and awaken the middle part of the body. Each part of the body is often separated: the head is separated, the legs… We are blocked. By combining voice exercises and body we reach a point at which the whole body is engaged in speaking and singing.
