Regula contra Regulam XI Open Session

 29 October – 4 November 2012
Brzezinka, the forest base of the Grotowski Institute

Else Marie Laukvik (Odin Teatret, Denmark)
Mario Barzaghi (Teatro dell’Albero, Italy)

Creative work in this session focuses on Hamletmaschine by Heiner Müller.
Participants must read this text before the session and, if possible, bring a copy in their own native language.

 Fee and Deadline
400 EUR (350 EUR for participants from Eastern and Central Europe)
Returning participants from previous sessions will pay a reduced fee of 350 EUR (300 EUR for participants from Eastern and Central Europe).
Fee includes lodging and food. It does not include transportation expenses from/to Wroclaw.

Open Session Work Programme

Working sessions are held every day from 9am to 1pm, and from 3pm to 7pm. Other individual sessions will be held at different timing, according with the development of the work.

- Monodic chant, choral singing and harmonization
- Techniques of chironomia
- Pitch, transport and modulation techniques
- Techniques of vocal and instrumental arrangement

On Physical Actions
- Improvisation and dynamic use of space
- From exercises to compositions
- Actor’s composition and dramaturgy
- Concluding montage and dramaturgy

Requirements
- Comfortable work-wear for strenuous work (spare T-shirts)
- Knee-pad (volleyball-like)
- Every actor should prepare a fragment from Hamletmaschine by Heiner Müller, and a song in relation with the text
- Each player must bring an elegant costume, complete with shoes
- Actors playing a musical instrument are requested to bring it
