I had never seen such a beautiful body before. Life and death were intertwined in every fibre of his muscles. He wears a costume that is at once construction and destruction – Butoh is his entire life. Tetsuya Saito The exhibition includes photographs taken between 2007 and 2011 in Kawasaki and Tokyo (Japan) as well as in Wroc³aw, Lublin and Warsaw (Poland). Tetsuya Saito (born in 1974 in Sapporo), is a freelance photographer. He graduated from Waseda University in 2000. His work was shown in the exhibition (De)construction. Since meeting Daisuke Yoshimoto in 2008, he has been documenting “the wonder of the body”. In 2012 he published an album of photographs entitled Tenku Yoran (The Weaving Body). |
