"Arche" means the beginning (from the Greek archi) and is the root of the notion archetype (prototype). ,"Arche" (ethymologically means cause, power) – in pre-Socratic philosophy is a term that stands for the first cause, the original rule of all existence. The primary cause that rules the world and the universe. Existence of this rule was claimed by the Ionian philosophers of nature. For Thales arche is water, for Pythagoras numbers etc., for Anaximenes arche is air. "Arche.exe" Programme The aim of the "Arche.exe" programme is to research the sources of music, not in the historical sense, but psychological. Music within us has its own sources and roots, stemming not only from outside "educational" transmission, but also from archetypical influences common to all out human-kind. The "Arche.exe" programme seeks to penetrate those areas. The main basis for this experiment is the experiences of classical music of India and western classical music treated in the spirit of the Indian notion of "sadhana" – the spiritual way. "Arche.exe" programme "Arche.exe" programme is directed to people interested in a new approach of their own understaing of music. Concepts that we carry in mind create limits of our perception. Breaking these limits is an essential element of our developement. The workshops will take place in the form of weekend sessions in Brzezinka. Establishing a music group (one or more – according to the number of applications) that plays improvised music based on the rules of Indian improvisation, is supposed to crown the work. Musicians are preferred, however we also invite musically gifted people who would like (on the basis of psychological and esthetical experience of Indian and Western cultures) to discover in themselves their own, unique music world. The first phase of the experiment will be connected with voice work. Also singing actors are welcome. |
