Work demonstration in English translated into Polish

This research reconnects with the essential principles that revive forgotten movement patterns, tapping into the powerful potential of simple human movement. It examines and tests the limits through practical experience using difficulty and danger to develop strength, adaptability and softness to open up to the Common Creative Principle. Practice is developed through dynamic experimentation with movement practitioners of various disciplines: martial artists, dancers, athletes, sculptors and people from other disciplines who examine the human architecture and physiology in the context of the environment in which humans evolve and develop their behaviour and movement. The work utilizes various aspects of evolutionary pressures and how we respond to them.

Jozef Frucek is a founding member of RootlessRoot. He graduated from the Academy of Music and Theatre of Bratislava, completing his PhD in 2002. From 2002 to 2005 he was a member of Wim Vandekeybus’ Ultima Vez, co-creating Blush (stage and film versions) and Sonic Boom. They regularly give workshops at international festivals and in schools. From 2006 to 2011 Frucek and Kapetanea taught at the Athens State School for Dance. Since 2012 Frucek has been on the teaching staff of Ludwik Solski State Drama School in Kraków, Poland. He has been guest professor at Stockholm’s University of Dance and Circus (DOCH).
