4th–5th April, Moscow, Russia Visit of Grzegorz Ziolkowski to Moscow (among other meetings, one with Tadashi Suzuki) connected with the preparations for the Year of Grotowski 2009. 16th–19th April, La Valetta, Malta Guest lecture on theatrical anthropology and a work session Hearing led by Dr. Grzegorz Ziolkowski (assistant: Agnieszka Pietkiewicz) at the University of Malta. 8th May, Kalisz, Poland The Grotowski Institute’s presence at the 47th Kaliskie Spotkania Teatralne, to honour the 70th anniversary of Ryszard Cieslak’s birthday. The programme includes: a meeting dedicated to the books published by the Grotowski Institute: Misterium tremendum and fascinans (2006), and Towards a Poor Theatre (2007), a DVD presentation of the audiovisual reconstruction of the performance The Constant Prince (1965) documenting the performance of The Laboratory Theatre, (University of Rome “La Sapienza”), and the presentation of a documentary film about Ryszard Cieslak „Aktor calkowity”. Work session led by Ditte Berkeley and Matej Matejka from Theatre ZAR 31st August and 1st September, Edinburgh, Roxy Art House The Theatre out of the spirit of Music – Presentation of work by Theatre ZAR in Edinburgh on the invitation of the Demarco European Art Foundation, as part of celebrations for the 60th anniversary of the Edinburgh International Festival. 18th October, Cracow The Grotowski Institute and Theatre ZAR will be at the Genius Loci Festival at the Laznia Nowa Theatre. Programme includes: Theatre out of the spirit of Music – a meeting with Jaroslaw Fret, Tadeusz Kornas, Dariusz Kosinski and Grzegorz Ziolkowski; Gospels of Childhood performed by ZAR Theatre; The Constant Prince with introduction by Grzegorz Ziolkowski. 21st–28th October, Srebrna Gora Work on the performance Caesarean Section. Essays on Suicide by Theatre ZAR and presentation of work by Theatre ZAR at the Centre run by Chorea Theatre. 27th November – 5th December Presentation of performances by Theatre ZAR at the UCLA Live’s International Theatre Festival in Los Angeles and at UC Irvine and Pomona College (USA) 29th November – 2nd December, Galeria Awangarda BWA, Wroclaw Presentation of books published by the Grotowski Institute within the frame of the ‘16th Wroclaw Good Books Promotion’ 15th December, Culture Centre, Swidnica Lecture by Bruno Chojak with film presentation within the frame of Transformations, the 5th Forum of Independent Theatres in Swidnica, Poland |
