"The Wizard or Harmonic Cacophony is an attempt to transform time into space with the help of sound. It is an attempt of create a synthesis of sound in the consciousness of the actors on the stage: a synthesis between the vocal activity that produces sound (text, song), the musical tone that produces sound, their gradation over time and the intention of each individual performer to produce some kind of musical result. It is an attempt to compose theatre, an attempt to give theatre elements the function of an orchestrated cacophony and to make spectator’s perception shift from the rational to a spatial sphere 'outside time'.
The performance is based on a famous fairytale written by L. Frank Baum, The Wizard of Oz, and texts of F.M. Dostoevsky, Virginia Woolf, Hermann Hesse, Oscar Wilde and Marina Cvetaeva. Performance and music materials from varoius productions of Plavo Pozorište from 1995 to 2006, are used in this performance: Sonnet Without a Title (1995), It Was the Souls’ Wondrous Mine (1999), Oscar Wilde and the Inconstant Prince (2000), Sarcasticus or Birth of the Virus (2002), Fantastic Gospel According to Virginia (2003), Dialectics of Soul – Study of freedom (2004), I sing Like a Bird (2006)".
