He works at the University of Wroclaw at the Department of Cultural Theory and Performing Arts. After graduating in Polish philology, he began his academic research, writing a doctoral thesis under the supervision of Prof. Janusz Degler entitled Polska nauka o teatrze w latach 1945–1975 [Polish Theatre Studies from 1945–1975]. The thesis has recently been published in a radically new version by the University of Wroclaw Press. Beyond theatre, the author’s research interests include literary theory, with which he has been involved for many years. He has published many articles in various languages, and also (sic!) in Hungarian.
