 4 May (Monday), 7:00 pm New York, USA Grotowski and Kantor Discussion between Prof. Zbigniew Osinski (University of Warsaw) and Prof. Michal Kobialka (University of Minnesota), author of the book Further on, Nothing: Tadeusz Kantor’s Theatre published in 2009. Facilitated by Prof. Daniel Gerould. This dialogue is part of the programme Year of Grotowski in New York presented by the Polish Cultural Institute of New York City, in collaboration with Richard Schechner from Tisch School of the Arts, New York University.
 8–28 May (Friday–Thursday)Kalisz Celebration of The Grotowski Year 2009 during the 49th annual Kalisz Theatre Meetings Organizers: City of Kalisz, Wojciech Boguslawski Theatre, Adam Asnyk Public Library, Centre of Art and Culture, Teacher Improvement Centre, and Ignacy Paderewski 4th High School in Kalisz, in collaboration with the Grotowski Institute in Wroclaw. 26th May (Tuesday), 6:30 pm Barcelona Grotowski: Beyond Theatre Opening of The Grotowski Year in Barcelona. Participants: Marek Perkal, Polish consul in Barcelona; Mercè Saumell, director of the Institut del Teatre Cultural Services; and Anna Caixach, curator and coordinator of The Grotowski Year celebrations in Barcelona. During the gathering, there will be film presentations by Maria Zmarz-Koczanowicz Jerzy Grotowski – proba portretu, 1999 [Jerzy Grotowski – an attempt at a portrait] and the exhibition 50 Years of the Laboratory Theatre, prepared in collaboration with the Grotowski Institute. 30th May – 1st June (Saturday – Monday) Moscow Grotowski retrospective Presentation of The Grotowski Year organized by the Meyerhold Centre in Moscow in collaboration with the Grotowski Institute. Programme includes: film presentations; lecture by Jaroslaw Fret, director of the Grotowski Institute; and discussion.  |
