Are you ready to listen to prince Midnight fairy tale? You must be very brave because it is a strange and funny tale, very mysterious but a little bit scary too. Once upon a time there is a prince – I say there is because he is not dead, poor prince – whose name is Midnight, who was born at midnight, and is desperately in love with the dark and the stars – without darkness you cannot see the stars, right? Everybody thinks that darkness protects and hides phantoms, wolves and witches, while the light makes the world wonderful and quiet. It is at night, however, that dreams come to life. But even the sweetest dreams could become nightmares. That happened to our poor prince, forced to hide inside a magic drawer to avoid the curse of the witch Valeriana. The witch Valeriana loved our pale prince so much that she put a curse on him when she felt rejected: if the prince had fallen in love, he would have turned into a monster. You are scared, aren’t you? Immediately prince Midnight, shrunk together with his castle and his servants, sad and lonely waits for someone to break the curse. But what is happening now? Somebody enters the castle? Turmoil, people chasing people, slapping doors, lights on and lights off… it seems the story is beginning. We only have to get in to know the full story, yes, into the drawer – I told you it is magic – don’t be afraid, the prince is very kind, a real gentleman, come on in, please, come on in, it looks like you never got into a drawer… Prince Midnight is victim of a curse: he is doomed to become a frightening creature if he ever finds true love. To avoid his destiny, he decides to never fall in love, he retires in a smoky manor to live alone, sad and gloomy. A gallery of bizarre and grotesque characters will lead us through the world of this delicate and romantic fairy tale, told in an oddly, mysterious and poetic noir style. TEATROPERSONA Teatropersona is a company of physical theater and theater of animation, that produces performances for adults and children. In 2006 the performance “Beckett Box” won the European Prize “Beckett and Puppet”. In 2008/09 the performance “Treatise of Mannequins” won the Prize “Nuove Creatività” of ETI (Ente Teatrale Italiano) and the Prize for Stage Writing Lia Lapini. The performance “Prince Midnight” became a pictorial book and won the Children Jury Prize – Premio Scenario Infanzia 2009. Czy chcecie posłuchać bajki o Nocnym Księciu? Musicie być bardzo odważni, bo to dziwna i śmieszna historia, bardzo tajemnicza i nawet trochę straszna. Dawno temu żyje sobie książę – specjalnie mówię żyje sobie, bo biedak wcale nie umarł. Mówią na niego Nocny Książę, gdyż urodził się w nocy i uwielbia ciemność i gwiazdy – gwiazdy widać tylko wtedy, gdy jest ciemno, prawda? Wszyscy myślą, że ciemność skrywa zjawy, wilki i czarownice, a w świetle świat jest wspaniały i spokojny, ale to właśnie nocą budzą się do życia sny. Sęk w tym, że nawet najsłodsze sny mogą przerodzić się w koszmar... Właśnie to spotkało naszego biednego księcia, który musiał ukryć się w zaczarowanej szufladzie, by uciec przed czarem rzuconym przez czarownicę Walerianę. Waleriana tak bardzo kochała bladolicego księcia, że gdy poczuła się odrzucona, rzuciła na niego czar. Teraz książę nie może się zakochać, bo jeśli to zrobi, zmieni się w okropnego potwora. Boicie się, prawda? Nocny Książę natychmiast się skurczył, wraz ze swoim zamkiem i służbą – wiedzie teraz ponure, samotne życie, czekając, aż ktoś zdejmie z niego zły czar. Ale cóż to? Ktoś przybył do zamku? Słychać jakieś hałasy, bieganie, trzaskają drzwi, światła zapalają się i gasną… Tak, to chyba początek naszej opowieści. Wystarczy, że wejdziecie, a poznacie dalszy ciąg historii – tak, tak, do szuflady – przecież mówię wam, że to czary. Ale nie bójcie się – książę to dobry człowiek, prawdziwy dżentelmen. Wejdźcie proszę, chodźcie – widzę, że nigdy nie wchodziliście do szuflady... Czarownica rzuciła na Nocnego Księcia czar: jeśli książę znajdzie prawdziwą miłość, zmieni się w odrażającego potwora. Aby tego uniknąć, książę postanawia nigdy się nie zakochać – zamieszkuje w ponurym zamku, gdzie wiedzie równie ponure, samotne życie. W świecie tej delikatnej, romantycznej bajki, opowiedzianej w tajemniczy i mrocznie poetycki sposób, spotkamy galerię osobliwych i groteskowych postaci. TEATROPERSONA Teatropersona uprawia teatr fizyczny i teatr animacji, wystawiając spektakle zarówno dla dorosłych, jak i dla dzieci. Pudełko Becketta zdobyło w 2006 roku europejska nagrodę Beckett i Lalka. W latach 2008 i 2009 Traktat o manekinach otrzymał nagrodę Nuove Creatività na festiwalu ETI (Ente Teatrale Italiano) i nagrodę Lii Lapini za scenariusz teatralny. Nocny Książę (Prince Midnight) zdobył nagrodę dziecięcego jury na festiwalu Premio Scenario Infanzia 2009. Na podstawie spektaklu powstała ilustrowana książka. |
