Daisuke Yoshimoto

 Daisuke Yoshimoto graduated from art faculty of the Theatre Department at the Nippon University in 1967. Since the first years of his scenic activities, he collaborated and co-ocreated performances with the greatest creators of butō, among others: Kazuo Ohno, Hisayo Iwaki, Yukihiko Sakai. 
In the 90s, he visited Poland numerous times presenting a cycle of performances on the subject of death. He was a guest artist of the Manngha Centre of Japanese Art and Technology in Cracow, Centre for Contemporary Art in Warsaw, Theatre Kana in Szczecin, Tratwa Association in Olsztyn, the Teatr Osmego Dnia in Poznan, as well as the Centre for Studies of Jerzy Grotowski's Work and for Cultural and Theatrical Research and the Grotowski Institute in Wroclaw (several times). In 1997, the Wroclaw Centre was the originator and producer of the butō festival during which Daisuke Yoshimoto was the programme consultant.
